Shelterbox Made Meaningful!

Rotary Mtg 14 -5-14Rotary Club of Bangor’s meeting on 14 May was attended by visiting speakers Nicola Hynds, a field volunteer for Shelterbox, and Principal Mandy White of Grange Primary school whose children, parents and staff had made a very generous contribution to Shelterbox earlier in the year.

Nicola gave an inspiring account of her training and preparation for her future deployment to areas of crisis and Mandy received, from President Elect Ian Wilson, the Shelterbox certificate of appreciation for the school’s donation of £2000.

Breaking News….Nicola has just been asked to travel to Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday  25th May to help with aid for a neighbouring country and to visit a refugee camp, to examine how Shelterbox tents and equipment are coping with conditions. she has promised to report back to Bangor Rotarians on her experiences. Watch this space!!
