Outing to Livingston Centre, Killinchy

August 24, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

In place of our usual weekly meeting we will have a guided visit to the Livingston Centre in Killinchy (see below for details and address).

We will meet at the Centre just before 11.30 a.m. Reverend Stanley Gamble will be our guide through the exhibition.

Tea/coffee and sandwiches will be available afterwards for a donation. Partners and guests also very welcome. Own transport to be organized.

The Livingston Centre at Killinchy Parish Church is a local heritage centre. It tells the transatlantic story of the Livingston family. We learn about the Eagle Wing and American history as the Livingston family has Presidents, a First Lady, Congressmen, Senators, Governors, businessmen, entrepreneurs and military heroes in its family tree.

The Centre also covers other periods of history, including the Celtic period, the Viking invasion, the Norman Conquest, the Ulster Plantation, 1798 Rebellion, 1859 Revival and the 1912 Ulster Covenant. There is a social space with coffee and tea facilities.
