Members of the Rotary Club of Bangor met for one of he most important meetings of the Year when incoming President Paul Hatty and his Council outlined their plans for the July 2015-16 Year.
With an emphasis on membership, the Council has taken the Rotary International theme of ‘The Gift of Rotary’ to heart and President Elect Paul outlined the various membership options that are now available for new members.
A full calendar of service, fundraising and social events was promised, and members look forward to an outstanding, ambitious and challenging year.
Assistant Governor Roland Bailie congratulated the incoming President and Council on their level of enthusiasm and wished the Club well for the coming year promising to offer as much assistance as possible.
The evening was all the more complete with a visit from Marina Gridelli, the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Viareggio Versilia (District 2071), who was in Bangor visiting her daughter Claudia, a design student, who is working in Bangor over the summer and trying in the process to improve her English.
Marina presented President Ian with a pennant of her club and endeared herself to all members through her friendliness. She promised Bangor Rotarians a warm welcome to her club if they happen to be travelling through the region.
