Charity Breakfast Support for NI Hospice

| January 19, 2014

Thanks to the generosity of visitors to last October’s Charity Breakfast, Rotary Club of Bangor presented a cheque for £3000 to the NI Hospice’s re-building fund at their meeting on 15 October 2014 . President Robin Mussen thanked all the businessmen and women and private subscribers to the breakfast which had, as guest speaker, Paul Clark MBE, broadcaster and Chairman of the Hospice movement in NI.

Thanking Bangor Rotarians for organising the event, Fund Raising managers Marcus Cooper and Jenay Doyle said that since their organisation relied on voluntary subscriptions to meet most of its costs, contributions from bodies like Rotary Clubs were vital for survival.

Besides  the NI Hospice, other charities to benefit from the breakfast are Rotary Foundation (including Rotary’s partnership project to help eradicate Polio) and Shelterbox, particularly aimed at the Philippines disaster relief effort.
