The Rotary Club of Bangor is sad to report the death of our long-serving Member George Lyle.
George died on 17th May after a few months of illness. He would have been 90 this December
He always had a smile and cheerful attitude and this continued. Many members contacted him during his final weeks and always got a positive response when asked how he was doing
George joined Bangor Rotary in 1978 (46 years service) Sadly his wife Isabel died about 5 years after he joined leaving him a difficult period with a young family and his own Motor Business to run.
He was very active in Rotary Golfing events over many years. He will be remembered for his generous contribution to Rotary charities.
George will be sadly missed.
