Bangor Rotary plants 70 trees to celebrate Queen’s Jubilee

| March 30, 2022

The Rotary Club of Bangor has planted 70 trees as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebration, adding their efforts to the Queen’s Green Canopy project rolling out across the UK.

Organised by PP Patrick Cregg and attended by both the Lord Lieutenant for County Down, Gawn William Rowan Hamilton DL,  and North Down Borough Council Deputy Mayor, Councillor Robert Adair, the event saw Rotarians and members of the Bangor Horticultural Society work together to plant the trees in Castle Park, Bangor.

The native trees and location beside the Marquis Hall on Bangor’s Abbey Street were supplied by the Council and we look forward to watching the plantation come to life over the coming years where it will join with a similar Council planting in 1937 to celebrate the Coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
