£1000 for McMillan Cancer Support

Macmillan-Cancer-Support(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)Rotary-22-2-121.jpg">Macmillan-Cancer-Support(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)Rotary-22-2-121-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="134" />Thanks to the generosity of Bangor people last Christmas, the Rotary Club of Bangor collected sufficient funds from a car ballot to provide McMillan Cancer Support with a cheque for £1000, at their meeting on 22 February 2012. The organisation’s local Fund Raising Manager, Joanne Young, visited the lunch-time meeting to receive the cheque from President Denis Neill(see above).

Thanking Rotarians, Ms Young described how important such donations are to the increasing work of McMillan Cancer Support , in the face of the increasing numbers of people, in Northern Ireland, who will experience the impact of the disease – directly or indirectly- in their lifetime. She said that over 30% of the population will be affected -a figure expected to rise to 50% in the coming years.
