DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Robin Masefield\, CBE\nA civil servant for 37 years\, in his last post\, Robin Masefield\, CBE\, was Director General of the NI Prison Service.\nRobin will be highlighting the the unique problem with our NI charity legislation and its enforcement; his involvement in its improvement and the need for civic engagement and how we can make progress in a challenging constitutional/ political context!\nRobin has written\, jointly or on his own\, seven books. After retiring in 2010\, he has had more time to indulge in local history\, including Twixt Bay and Burn (the history of Helen’s Bay and Crawfordsburn) in 2011 and Be Careful\, Don’t Rush – Celebrating 150 Years of Train Travel between Holywood and Bangor in 2015.  \nThe previous year Policing in Northern Ireland\, Delivering the New Beginning? co-written with Professor Sir Desmond Rea\, was published.\nHe is now working on the history of Palace Barracks and its links to Holywood.\nHe is a Director/Trustee of various charities including Oxfam Ireland and Holywood Shared Town.\nLunch: Pork Chop & Pepper Sauce
