DESCRIPTION:Date : Wednesday 15th October 2025 at 7:30 a.m.\nLocation :  Bangor Golf Club\nCharities :  Rotary Foundation &  Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI\nGuest Speaker : Mr Jim Neilly MBE – BBC NI Sports Commentator\nCost : £18.00 per person  / Corporates ( tables of 8) £200.00\n\n______________________________________________________________________________ \n\n \nN.B. – any dietary requirements should be advised to Hon Sec Howard  in advance.\n          Last Wednesday I commenced circulating a Members Name list around our Club\,\n          Thank you to those who have already indicated their attendance etc on this name\n          list which will be circulated again over the next few weeks. \,\n\n\n\nAbout Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI\n\n\nLeukaemia & Lymphoma NI is the only local charity dedicated to blood cancer in Northern Ireland\, funding research\, education and clinical support.\n\nAll funds remain in NI to support projects that benefit local patients\, and since the charity launched in 1964\, it has raised over £14 million towards world-class research that has helped survival rates of some blood cancers improve dramatically\, and effectively found cures for certain leukaemias and lymphomas. But there is still a lot more work to do.\n\n3 people every day are diagnosed with a blood cancer here. 1 in every 4 people still do not survive it.\nIt is the 5th most common cancer\, and the 3rd most fatal cancer\, yet remains one of the least well-known.\nLLNI works hard to try and raise awareness of blood cancer as an umbrella term for over 100 haematological disorders – the 3 main ones being leukaemia\, lymphoma and myeloma.\n\nWe hold events and support community fundraising throughout the year\, and have a special events calendar and educational program during September which is Blood Cancer Awareness Month.\n\nWe also work closely with centres throughout the UK\, Europe and America to ensure we are funding the most worthwhile research that will have the largest impact on patients both locally and globally.
