£1000 for McMillan Cancer Support

The organisation’s local Fund Raising Manager, Joanne Young, visited the lunch-time meeting to receive the cheque from President Denis Neill(see above).

Thanking Rotarians, Ms Young described how important such donations are to the increasing work of McMillan Cancer Support , in the face of the increasing numbers of people, in Northern Ireland, who will experience the impact of the disease – directly or indirectly- in their lifetime. She said that over 30% of the population will be affected -a figure expected to rise to 50% in the coming years.
